In Maine, SIDRA Humanitarian Organization focuses on supporting immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. Additionally, we support seniors, children with disabilities, and offer cultural brokering services to create a harmonious community.

Chad

Internationally, our organization addresses the unique challenges in Chad, such as early child marriages, extreme poverty, and limited access to healthcare and education. We work to improve education opportunities, end early child marriages, enhance living conditions, and empower marginalized communities. Our goal is to create pathways for better healthcare and ensure the rights of girls and indigenous peoples are defended. We also provide rehabilitation and support for street children.

What the two places have in common

Language first

Nothing works until people can say what they need. Interpretation and cultural brokering come before every other service.

Getting there

A clinic or a classroom you cannot reach is not access. Transport is treated as a core service, not a favour.

Staying with it

We follow a case until the outcome is real — the appointment attended, the job kept, the school year finished.
