WHAT WE FOCUS ON

At SIDRA Humanitarian Organization, our mission is to create a positive and lasting impact on the lives of vulnerable communities around the world. We are driven by the belief that every person deserves access to basic necessities, education, healthcare, and opportunities for a better future.

OUR DEDICATED

Sidra Humanitarian Organization board, staff, and volunteers work tirelessly to empower individuals facing personal challenges, break down systemic barriers, and combat institutional discrimination that disproportionately affects marginalized communities. We are committed to supporting individuals with untapped potential – those with low income, underemployment, limited education, and predominantly non-English-speaking backgrounds in Maine, helping them access the resources they need to enhance their quality of life.

OUR MISSION

extends to advocating for and aiding community members from diverse backgrounds, including those in transition housing, individuals living with HIV, Long-COVID, chronic illnesses, intellectual and developmental disabilities, elderly individuals with disabilities, and those facing unstable living conditions. Additionally, we place a special emphasis on assisting victims of gun violence, crime, and domestic abuse.

Extending Our Reach to Chad

Internationally, our organization addresses the unique challenges in Chad, such as early child marriages, extreme poverty, and limited access to healthcare and education. We work to improve education opportunities, end early child marriages, enhance living conditions, and empower marginalized communities. Our goal is to create pathways for better healthcare and ensure the rights of girls and indigenous peoples are defended. We also provide rehabilitation and support for street children.
